Why I chose to start a Sustainability Blog

(Hint: I'm a massive nag)

Hi! My name is Becky and I was encouraged to start a blog because of my own journey discovering the extent of the climate crisis and researching more and more about living sustainably.

As I’ve begun slowly incorporating changes into my own life and routine, I’ve also started more conversations about the environment and about my findings in the hopes of informing and inspiring others to live greener lives. I also went to an eco-march and noticed none of the banners explained how to save the climate, only that it needed to be done. Sadly too, many students were wearing clothes that very openly advertised for some of the most unethical and unsustainable clothing brands in the industry. I don’t believe this was out of malice though, simply because they may not have known. Hence where my blog comes in.

This blog is meant to give information and save readers from needing to do extensive research on a topic. It is purposefully meant to be completely un-intimidating and for the tips to be super simple. I’m not going to tell you to go completely plastic-free or vegan or that you can’t fly any more, if truth be told my carbon footprint is still very high. But I believe that if we can all do sustainability imperfectly, it will make a bigger impact than only a couple of people doing it perfectly. In the same vain, I will likely not have read every paper or article on a topic, so if I make a mistake I want to know about it so that I can update my blog, so don’t hesitate to contact me.

This blog will be chilled, hopefully a bit funny and hopefully a little inspiring. Some instalments might be long, some very short and most of my puns will not hit the mark.

I hope you'll enjoy my blog, feel free to stick around! x

PS: This is Moses, my cat and he is this cute in real life too.
